Fresh from the sellout show with Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings, Niche returns to the Basement for the annual Queens B‚day long weekend bash Featuring the Super-heavy, Raw and Upfront drum-break driven grooves of The Bamboos for one night of Deep-Funk madness!

The Bamboos step up the funk with an original twist. Bringing the noise in the form of screaming Hammond organ, chicken-scratch guitar, thumping bass and blaring horns. Add to this the baddest throwdown of extended drum breaks in the southern hemisphere and you‚ve got yourself a recipe for dancefloor mayhem!

Making their home at Tru Thoughts Records in 2005 (Gilles Peterson's Worldwide Label of The Year and home to Quantic and Alice Russell) The Bamboos debut album 'Step it Up'‚ has been released jointly by Tru Thoughts in U.K/Europe and Ubiquity Records in USA. With guest appearances from U.K soul diva Alice Russell the ŒStep it Up‚ LP has been garnering praise form the likes of Gilles Peterson, Mad Mats, Quantic and Mr Scruff.

Launching their debut long-player ŒStep it Up‚ in Sydney before embarking on a U.K/European Tour in June/July, The Bamboos will be taking their brand of Antipodean Funk to the world! As the integral backbone to the QSO and Alice Russell Australian tours of 2005 and 2004, this is your chance to catch the boys in the spotlight, and is one show you do not want to miss
